Email Account Set-Up for Outlook Express

Introduction

Outlook Express is one of the most widely used email platforms. It has a vast amount of options and features that make it easy and efficient. Many businesses use Outlook Express as their primary email program. Setting up your email in Outlook Express is fairly easy but requires attention to detail.

Steps

Step One

Open Outlook Express. The Internet connection wizard will automatically open if no accounts have been set-up. If it does not open automatically, click on Tools -> Accounts under the Mail tab select Add -> Mail

Step Two

Enter the name you want to appear on your outgoing emails in the “Display Name” field. This name will appear on every mail you send. Click “Next.”

Step Three

Type the email address given to you by your Internet provider into the “Email Address” field. Click “Next.”

Step Four

Enter the type of server your Internet provider uses. In most cases, this will be the Pop3 server. Click “Next.”

Step Five

Fill in your name and enter the name that you want to appear on your outgoing emails in the Internet mail logon screen. If you want the computer to remember you when you sign on, enter your password and check the "Remember Me" box. The Inloco incoming server is called mail.webapps.co.za. If you are an ADSL client, your outgoing server address is smpt.isdsl.net, now click “Next” and then “Finish.”

Tips & Warnings

  • When entering the email address, password and incoming and outgoing mail server addresses, be exact. Your email will not work if there are any mistakes in this information.
